Francesco Saverio Pedrini
Born into an artistic family, he studied piano with his mother and counterpoint with his father from a young age.
Organ diploma in Parma with Francesco Tasini. ‘Postgraduate studies’ with A. Marcon and J.-C. Zehnder at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Masterclasses and further studies with: M. Radulescu, L. F. Tagliavini, C. Stembridge, L. Tamminga (Organ); A. Fedi, E. Joyé (Harpsichord); R. Lutz (Improvisation).
Prizewinner in International Organ Competitions in Bruges and Borca di Cadore (Italy).
He performs as soloist and as chamber musician with different ensembles and orchestras, collaborating among the others with Kammerorchester Basel,
L'Aura Soave, Le
Giovanni Antonini, Martin Gester, Paul McCreesh, Paul Goodwin, Giuliano Carmignola, Sergio Azzolini ...
He has recorded for Naïve, Claves, Divox Antiqua, Carus, Tactus, Amadeus, Sony, Arcana.
Since 2007 he has been correpetiteur of the Opera Class at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
In 2006 he founded the 'Festival Internazionale Organistico della Città di Parma'. He is artistic director and founder of the project ‘Le Capitali della Musica’, a concert cycle of italian baroque music in Zurich. From 2012 to 2016 was musical director of the Suiss vocal ensemble Voces Suaves. With Voces Suaves he recorded musics by Maurizio Cazzati and Giovanni Croce (both world first recordings).
In 2016 he founded La Pedrina.
